Summer Fashion Trend Alert! – Women’s Rompers & Jumpers

Filed Under (Fashion Trend Articles) by benz on 14-06-2010

Tagged Under : , , , , ,

They re-appeared on the fashion scene several years ago, and initially were received with mix reviews. But I have to admit, women’s rompers and jumpers (or jumpsuits) have indeed grown on me! I used to joke and refer to them as “baby clothes” – but as tends dictates – they are anything but kid-like! From dressy rompers, suitable for a night out with the girls – to more casual styles, for a day in the park or at the beach…these throwbacks are making a come-back!

There are many people who have varying opinions on rompers. Rompers are similar to jumpsuits; however, they tend to be shorts rather than long pants. A romper may have short sleeves or it may be sleeveless. It is possible to find rompers that have three quarter length sleeves. This season, they are being seen primarily in bright, solid colors, and they are also being seen with military inspired accents. They are generally constructed of jersey or cotton. Though you will find more dressy sets made of silk and poly/rayon blends. Many women view ropers as comfortable lounge wear for the home or a vacation. However, there are very few workplaces that would allow a woman to wear such a garment, so don’t press your luck and think you can wear one to work! Rompers tend to be highly fitted garments, and they can be quite unforgiving to a woman’s figure. You’ll definitely find plus size rompers, however – whether you be a size 2 or 18…it’s best to wear some sort of foundation garment or women’s body girdle (like Spanx) just to keep things smoothed down. There are women who believe that if a person is overweight, she should not wear one because it tends to emphasis bulges or extra body fat. However, it is possible to find jumpers that are designed for larger women. It is mostly a matter of what a woman is comfortable wearing.

Women’s jumpsuits can vary in length. They may be pants length or end in a Capri style length. Jumpsuits may have short sleeves, be sleeveless, or have a spaghetti strap style top. Jumpsuits, for the 2010/2011 fashion season, may be constructed of almost any type of material, including silk, cotton, jersey, or denim. This season, they are commonly being paired with gladiator sandals or espadrilles. Unlike ropers, jumpsuits are being seen on the runway in an explosion of different patterns and colors. Another popular feature of jumpsuits this season is a belted waistline. This is quite flattering to slim figures, and it is quite effective at producing an hour glass figure for women who do not have one. Jumpsuits are generally most flattering on slim women; however, if you are comfortable wearing one, then rock it.

3 Spring 2008 Through Summer 2008 Fashion Must Haves For Narrow Hips

Filed Under (Fashion Trend Articles) by benz on 09-05-2010

Tagged Under : , , , ,

If you are shaped like a boy, the fashion world loves you. Take a look at the models on the runway. Actually, they aren’t just thin. They tend to have boyish figures with broader, clothes hanger shoulders and narrow hips. No doubt, many of them tend to be busty too, but the general shape is boyish, with narrow hips.

This season’s fashion trends are especially flattering to anyone with narrow hips.

If you have a boyish figure, if your shoulders are broader than your hips or if you are busty, but have small hips, this is your season. If you ever wished your hips were curvier, if you envy Latina bombshells like Jennifer Lopez for their curvy bottoms, now’s the time to revamp your wardrobe. Many of this season’s dresses and skirts make your hips look fuller than they really are.

Number 1 Fashion Essential : Tiered Dresses

Get yourself this season’s tiered dresses. The tiers and ruffles add volume to your hips, giving the illusion of fuller, more feminine curves than what nature intended.

Ruffles, ruffles everywhere. Dresses this spring and summer feature tiers of ruffles in lightweight fabrics like silk and chiffon. The result is a feminine, light-as-air look that adds to a girl’s allure. For narrow hips, go for dresses with tiers and ruffles around the hips as these would make your hips look fuller.

Number 2 Fashion Essential: Pleated skirts

Pleats are feminine. Unfortunately, not everyone can wear pleated skirts as pleats add lots of volume to the hips. Even more so than full skirts. For women who wished their hips were fuller, pleats are a boon as they give the illusion of rounder hips and fuller curves. This Spring and Summer sees the return of luxuriously full skirt as well as the pleated skirts which look wonderful on women with the right body shape for them.

Number 3 Fashion Essential: White Pantsuits

If you are on the slender side, you can wear with panache the white pantsuits so prevalent this spring and summer. White makes a pleasantly plump person look fat but if you are thin enough, crisp white is a spring neutral that lifts your look instantly. With Spring and Summer, the mood becomes lighter and likewise, colors lighten up. White’s a great alternative to black this season.

Okay, so if white pantsuits [http://www.cheap-designer-clothing.net/white-pantsuits.htm] are too Saturday Night Fever for you, you could go for Ecru, Tan or light colored pantsuits or even grays for a lighter look.

Trends For Designer Sunglasses For Summer 2010

Filed Under (Fashion Trend Articles) by benz on 30-04-2010

It is spring already and summer is just around the corner. For those either fashion-conscious or practical, it is the time of year to purchase a pair of sunglasses. A pair – either generic or designer sunglasses – is designed to not only be in style but to also block out UV rays and, in some cases, reduce glare seen when the sun hits certain objects. While the practical side of purchasing sunglasses involves finding a pair of polarized lenses that blocks against UV rays, the fashionable side means keeping up with the latest trends. And, trends for designer sunglasses in 2010 are full of contradictions.

On one hand, the overall trend for men and women is color – the more, the better. This may be brightly colored frames, as seen on many wayfarer styles, or tinted lenses – a popular option for oversized and butterfly styles. But, beyond which colors are used, the two contrasting trends for the summer are basic and unconventional designs. Combine them in the same pair – and you’ve got a set of sunglasses that meets all trends for the year. Nevertheless, this basic but unconventional look combines both retro styles – basics, like aviator and wayfarer designs – with a futuristic look, such as bold colors and embellishments seldom seen on vintage shades.

Embellishments are another popular trend for this coming summer. Called the “diva look,” designer sunglasses with various embellishments give your look some character. This may be through rhinestones added to the lenses or cut out designs along the frame for a pair of oversized or angular shades.

As a contrast to this look, however, earth tones are in for men and women. Almost like departure or a refute to the brightly-colored, embellished shades with a futuristic look, these back-to-basics styles often rely on a brown, beige, and green color scheme for the lenses and frames. This may be as classic as a mock tortoise frame or as subtle as clear plastic tinted beige.

Spring Summer 08 Fashion Trends

Spring Summer 2008 sees some of 2007 fashion trends reinvented and enhance for the new season and some brand new ones. The main fashion trends are…

Monochrome

Monochrome prints, spots, star and especially striped patterns will ensure you achieve that perfect timeless chic look.

Metallics

Metallics are still big news this summer but unlike last years full-on bling its toned down and is more subtle.

Tailoring

Create the right impression in the office with some sharp tailoring. There are only a few rules, keep trousers and skirts high waisted and the belt more subtle then last years oversized ones.

Printed

Spring sees a welcome to floaty fabrics, prints and folky details – boho chic is back, but this time with added polish. Tiered skirts to smock tops

are given a new lease of life with luxurious fabrics.

Swishy

The skirt of this Summer is the ’swishy skirt’. Choose a short yet strong design with a defined waist line and high cut hem.

Bright and Bold

Blow away the cobwebs of those gloomy days and drab greys and blacks with some bright bold colours. Add a much deserved splash of colour to your wardrobe!

Silky

Silk, so soft, so luxurious, so light, so Summer! Ensure you have at least one quality mini dress this season for those summer parties and nights out. Just two rules… It must be short and it must be silk.

There is a soft, light-as-air feeling to spring. Sheer silk dresses are so delicate they might fly off at a hint of summer breeze; florals burst into bloom, while sweet violet in all its sugared shades is the new spotlight colour. Feminine, flared and flirty, the dirndl skirt suits the seasons free-spirited mood, and even denim turns soft, in faded blue washes and wispy frayed seams. The ultimate indulgence? Hand-painted fabrics. The emblem you must have? Stars, stars and stars.

Slip-ons: The casual slip-ons are going to be favorite of all. Being casual doesn’t bring the tag ’sloppy’ to them. They are in fact stylish. And this Spring and Summer, they’ll be liked most in the shades of cream and light brown. Some of them are perforated so that your feet remain cool in the hot weather. They can well be worn with jeans, shorts or casual pants.

Leather Loafers: The classic and simple loafers will be available in classic colors like black, brown, white and tan. They go well with ‘not so formal’ dresses.

Suede Shoes: Widely known to be winter material, suede in its cool version is there for spring summer footwear too. They are used for practically any style- slip- ons, loafers or boat shoes. Shades like tan, black, brown and mustard as well as non conventional ones like yellow are there for all. The adventurous guys can try non conventional shades with light neutrals or denim.

Improvised Boat Shoes: The conventional boat shoes will now be seen in an improved avatar. These casual slip ons can be seen without laces and the upper part made of suede or leather. Available in almost all colors such as red, brownish- yellow, or black, they look great with shorts, jeans or khakis.

Formal Dress Shoes: Men can not escape formal wear any way. So the evergreen dress shoes also can’t go anywhere. They look awesome with light colored suits and dress pants. Shining blacks, browns, light gray, all’s there to choose from.

Other Details: Elongated Shoes will continue to dominate the market. Oxford shoes, slip-ons or summer boots- they can all be found in elongated style. Desert boots will also be there in natural, sandy shades. The indispensable sneaker can be found in bright colors, some of them having color blocking and graphic-art prints.

Hottest Fashion Trends This Summer

The heat of the African summer climaxes each year with the release of the hottest trends inspired by both local and international fashion gurus.

This year the ‘dark’ and mystical continent of Africa has leant her considerable appeal to the current fashion fads with tribal patterns, earth tones and colours that embrace the naked truth as headliners for this summer.

Although the bulk of the sizzling summer styles embrace the chic, emphasis has been put on the importance of conserving the planet with eco-friendly clothing getting the nod.

Nude colours – gone are the days of black or white with even the shades of grey relegated to the trash. This summer’s trend is all about subtlety with the mono tone beiges coming out trumps. Fashion aficionados claim these refined shades add lustre to your skin and fragility to your frame.

Transparent sunglass frames – the classic look remains but the frames with a clear transparent tone are the latest in trendy eye protection. With the unrelenting African sun being a certainty this summer, invest in only the best with transparent aplomb.

Sandals – in a tribute to the Romans, sandals in all various forms and fashions are back at the top of the fashion list. So whether they’re peep-toes or on staggeringly high platforms, sandals are here to stay. If the almost bare feel is not for you, check out the stunningly designed Ballerina shoes finished in both leopard and zebra print originals.

Tribal colours and texturesfashion accessories should reflect not only your personality but your tribal affiliations too. As devoted and dedicated Africans, tribal colours are really everywhere, with the knobbled ostrich leather competing with starkly contrasting zebra stripes. Sublimely crafted crocodile skin wallets or handbags hewn from the pelt of a ‘pronking’ impala will immediately define you as a proud member of the African tribe.

Earth Tones – in a tribute to our earth mother, make-up is warm and understated this summer with earth tones like terra-cotta, amber, khaki, bronze and copper the tints of choice. The make-up will blend effectively with the option of either nude or tribal colours and will enhance the overall ‘earth child’ look, tipped to take the fashion world by storm.

Belts – although belts have found favour the entire season, they are again getting an unequivocal ‘yes’ from the vogue vamps. Whether they are thin leather belts created from authentic crocodile or ostrich skin or bold outsized belts to reflect the Amazon in you, belts can do wonders for the delicately waisted.
